Two events here this year.

West Pennine Sailboard Club operates from an attractive, stone-built, clubhouse on the side of Watergrove Resevoir which is accessed through the narrow streets of Wardle Village, near Rochdale.

Due to its altitude and exposed (but attractive) location it can be an exciting venue if the conditions are right. An ideal location to bring the family due to the beautiful scenery and excellent walks around the lake and into the surrounding hills. In the past we have started the season off with the first event here - this year it is somewhat later in the season and this should allow the temperature to warm up above freezing ! You should still bring warm clothing - it can be quite cold this high up.

Plenty of parking and grassy areas for rigging. This location will suit all ability levels unless the wind is particularly strong. The clubhouse is well equipped and hot meals and drinks are available - you will receive a very warm welcome from the club members.

NOTE: At 3rd August the water level is low but sailable. There is just sufficient water to race.
